Firms building tokenized funds fall into three broad groups. Established asset managers issue tokenized share classes of funds they already run. Crypto-native firms launch funds designed for onchain distribution from the start. Tokenization platforms and transfer agents support both, issuing the tokens and keeping the record of who owns each share.
